A fun and yummy recipe

Marvelous Marshmallow Penguin Treats

Okay, so here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

  • A Bag of Marshmallow (Jumbo-Sized and/or Regular-Sized)
  • A package of your favorite chocolate melting wafers or chocolate bark coating
  • Candy eyes
  • Smarties Candy

Supplies:

  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Parchment paper or Wax paper
  • Spoon
  • 2 Bamboo skewers or toothpicks
  • Tray
Place the chocolate wafers/bark coating in a microwave safe bowl.

Melt the chocolate for 30 seconds then stir with a spoon. If needed, melt the chocolate for another 30 seconds until it is completely melted and smooth.

Dip the top of your marshmallow into the chocolate then angle it forward a little until the front half of the marshmallow is covered in chocolate.

Move the marshmallow back to the top, then lay it down on the back side and roll it to the right and left so the sides are covered in chocolate. When you’re finished, the entire marshmallow should be covered in chocolate except for a small section in the front where you were holding the marshmallow. This white small section will be the stomach of the penguin.

Holding the marshmallow in one hand and a spoon in the other, lift the marshmallow out of the bowl holding the spoon underneath the marshmallow.

Carefully place your chocolatey covered marshmallow on a tray lined with parchment paper (or wax paper).

Continue to dip your remaining marshmallows in chocolate until you have filled up your tray.

Let the marshmallows sit on your tray until the chocolate has hardened (about 15-20 minutes).

Now it’s time to add the eyes and beaks to your penguins. Lay all of the penguins down on their backs on the tray.

Re-melt the bowl of chocolate in the microwave.

Next, dip the tip of the skewer or toothpick into the chocolate and place 2 small dots of chocolate on the front of the penguin where the eyes will be located.

Place the candy eyes on top of the 2 dots of chocolate (the candy eyes will stick to the chocolate dots).

Using your other skewer or toothpick, carefully poke a large hole underneath the eyes and slide a yellow or orange Smartie inside the hole for the beak.
