BRANDON’S AWESOME VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT!!

Nikki

I know you’ve probably been DYING to find out what Brandon gave me for Valentine’s Day! Sorry I always make you guess my gifts, but it’s so much fun to see what you guys come up with!

You all had some awesome guesses, but it was something totally unique and creative!

When I looked in the little red bag, I saw a purple leather art journal customized with my name on the cover.

I know, that’s not all that creative! But, when I opened the first page I saw he’d written something inside. It read:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
There’s more to your gift
And this is a clue.
Check in your backpack
When you’re back at home.
Inside you will find
Another clue poem.

I couldn’t believe he put so much effort into this! No one has EVER done something so cool for me!

I looked at him and said, “No way! Really? This is SO awesome!!!”

And he said, “I thought you’d like it!”

After that, I REALLY wanted to run home and look for the next clue, but everyone started showing up for the party.

I had punch, Chloe and Zoey wore cute dresses, the dogs were adorable, blah, blah, blah….and then I got home!

I couldn’t wait to get upstairs and look in my bag!

When I got to my door, I looked inside and saw Brianna…wearing my backpack, listening to music on my iPod. OMG, that girl is SUCH a little wannabe freak show! (I kid! You guys know I love her! Kind of….)

I yelled, “Brianna! Hand over the bag and get out!”

Then she jumped and said, “Hi, Nikki! Want to play, ‘I’m Nikki’ with me?”

And I said, “I don’t have to PLAY ‘I’m Nikki’! I AM Nikki! Let’s play ‘I won’t tell on Brianna for being in my room if she leaves and goes to bed RIGHT NOW’!”

Then she said, “Deal!” and tossed my backpack at me before skipping out. She actually didn’t give me back my iPod, but I was too excited to care!

In the outside pocket, there was another poem. Brandon must have put it in there earlier that day in school. It read:

Tomorrow at noon
Where burgers are sold
Let’s meet for a bite
Then go somewhere cold.

Crazy Burger! He wanted to go to lunch at Crazy Burger!

I wasn’t sure what he meant by “somewhere cold.” Since we’ve been living inside a snow globe lately, that really could have been anywhere! But I was so excited that we were going to go out, just the two of us!

When I got to Crazy Burger the next day, I saw him sitting at a table in the back. I walked over and said, “I kind of thought I’d find another poem here!”

Then he slid me a napkin, with a poem on it that read:

I always have fun
Whatever we do.
You’re funny and smart.
I like you – it’s true.
But I’m pretty sure

You already knew.

This burger’s on me

Then ice skating too!

Squeeeeeeee!!!! He wrote that he likes me! I mean, yeah, I already knew. But it was in WRITING! The day was so totally awesome!

OK, so the ice skating part was kind of traumatizing. I stink at it, remember? But I didn’t even care that I looked like a total klutz. We joked around the whole time, and he helped me every time I almost fell.

Wasn’t that like the best Valentine’s Day gift EVER??? I sure think it was!
